Intensive Care Unit

This highly specialised unit is equiped with only the very best of equipment. The unit comprises of seven adult beds, five neo nathal beds and 6 high care beds. Placement of patients is done in such a manner that staff can keep an close eye on them at all times.

ICU Staff are highly trained and for that reason any type of patient can be admitted to the unit.

The staff to patient ratio is always kept at 1:1 to ensure optimal care at all times.

All beds are constantly monitored from a central  station  where all
of the patient's vital data is displayed.

Once the patient is admitted to the ICU, we require at least half-an-hour to settle him/her and will then call you and accompany you to his/her bedside.

  • Please ring the doorbell for admittance to the unit. Unfortunately you may have to wait a while until someone answers - the unit can be very busy at times.

  • No flowers are allowed in the unit. Please ensure that we have toiletries (a razor, etc.) and underwear for your relative. No other clothes are allowed.

  • Visiting will be allowed for short periods. Only 5-10 minutes per person is allowed.

Visiting Hours

  • 11:00 tot 11:15

  • 15:00 tot 15:30

  • 19:15 tot 10:30

Only two people may visit at a time and only immediate family are allowed to visit a patient. Visitors may be restricted at Sister's discretion.

No children under the age of 12 years are allowed in the unit.
